The "idea" of this item was very attractive, but once I took it out of the box and started assembling it, I realized how cheap the materials were. THe chrome shelves do not line up to the grooves in the wood sides either, so by the time you are done manipulating them so the screws fit, the shelves end up with a little curvature. I am using this product in the back of my closet as additional storage, so I didn't care what it ended up looking like, however if you plan on putting this item in a more visible location in your house, I would suggest going with something else.

Perfectly fits 3 pair of size 10 women's shoes on each row, totalling 12 pairs per unit. Easy to put together, with simple but effective design. I just ordered a second one!

I bought these for shoes. It took me about 10 minutes. The instructions included were quite adequate and nothing more was needed. I would say this rack would hold, 8 full sized pair of men's shoes and 4 pairs of womens shoes. Just for a visual, mens shoes on the outside, narrower space in between for womens. This isn't just a shoe rack of course.

It's quite sturdy and I must say, looks nice. It won't hold anything ultra heavy, but it's also not meant to. The sides are made from natural wood as mentioned in the product info.

I say almost perfect too because of that old and sometimes tired adage of nothing is perfect. If this thing could hold a car, maybe it would be perfect.
